John Barrowman's co-stars announced

Cardiff’s New Theatre is delighted to announce the talented cast that will be joining John Barrowman this Christmas, in the sensational family pantomime Robin Hood from 12 December 2009 – 24 January 2010. Alongside Torchwood’s John are comics Andy Jones and Don Maclean, Pete Gallagher, Malindra Parris and ITV’s Dancing on Ice stars Natalia Pestova and Alexei Kislitsyn.

Following last year’s magical 3-D adventure Aladdin, Robin Hood has already proved a hit with sales double that of any previous pantomime at the New Theatre, with some performances almost sold out.

The New Theatre is thrilled to be welcoming back panto regular Andy Jones for his fourth consecutive pantomime at the New. Andy reduced audiences to tears of laughter last year in his role as Aladdin’s hapless brother Wishee Washee. This year he will be appearing as merry man Will Scarlet. Don Maclean returns to the New after a 14 year absence as the jolly Friar Tuck. Many audience members will remember Don from his days on the hugely popular Crackerjack.

Pete Gallagher will reprise his role as the evil Sheriff of Nottingham as will Malindra Parris who will appear as the mysterious sorceress Casandra. Both garnered great reviews for their performances in Birmingham in 2008.

Audiences can expect the usual panto magic, illusions, laughs, song and dance as well as a special ice ballet performed by husband and wife skating team Natalia Pestova and Alexei Kislitsyn.

New Theatre Manager, Sue Lewis says “We are very excited this dynamic cast will be appearing in Robin Hood. The show has really caught the imagination of Cardiff panto fans and it looks like it will be our biggest and best pantomime yet.”

Robin Hood starring John Barrowman will be at the New Theatre, Cardiff from Saturday 12 December 2009 to Sunday 24 January 2010. Tickets are on sale now with prices from £9. They can be booked via the Box Office on (029) 2087 8889 or online at www.newtheatrecardiff.co.uk  (online bookings carry a small transaction charge)
