Madhatters tea party Red Dragon Centre 25th September 2009

What?      Pupils from Mount Stuart Primary School won’t be late for a very important date on Friday 25th September, as The Red Dragon Centre prepares to host an Alice in Wonderland inspired Madhatters tea party in aid of a special cause.

When?    Friday 25th September 2009, 10am – 11am

Where? The Red Dragon Centre, Hemingway Road, Cardiff Bay

Pupils from Mount Stuart Primary School in Cardiff Bay have been invited to join characters from Alice in Wonderland at The Red Dragon Centre this Friday 25th September in aid of a special cause.

To mark MacMillan’s annual coffee morning this Friday, Cadwaladers Ice Cream café and Bella Italia have teamed up to host a Madhatters tea party for the pupils, and to raise awareness and funds for the charity which helps to support people and families affected by cancer.

Throughout the morning, pupils will be entertained by Alice in Wonderland’s most beloved characters, including the famous Door Mouse and The Madhatter himself, as well as enjoying fun and games and refreshments donated by the venues.

Pupils will also be amongst the first to catch a glimpse of a larger than life tea pot, created purely from balloons courtesy of Dr Bobs Balloons in Barry. The tea pot will be on display at the Centre from Fri 25th – Sun 27th September, and visitors will be invited to guess the number of balloons that were used to create the sculpture for a £1 donation to MacMillan. The entrant closest to the correct total will win a fabulous family day out at Centre including a lunch at R Bar and bowling at Hollywood Bowl.

Peter Morris, head teacher for Mount Stuart Primary School said: ‘We are delighted to be teaming up with The Red Dragon Centre to support this very special cause. Our pupils will be fundraising throughout the week and we hope to raise about £200 to present at the Madhatters tea party this Friday. All of our pupils are really looking forward to the event, and we’re thrilled to be amongst the first to view the larger than life balloon made tea pot.”

Emma Johnstone, Marketing Manager for The Red Dragon Centre said: We are delighted to be welcoming Mount Stuart Primary and Dr Bobs balloons to help us launch this special event. Cadwaladers cafe will also be running a special offer for the public on Friday so we are urging as many people as possible to come down for a cuppa and of course to see our larger than life balloon tea pot to raise money for such a great cause.”
