Mermaid Quay events this August 2009

This weekend (15th & 16th) The Classic Motor Boat and Classic Car Rally will be taking place within Roald Dahl Plass and the space is already awash with activity. Pudsey’s Pals will be meeting the children tomorrow on our quayside over-looking the well-know bronze statues looking out over the Bay and Glory Box a superb acoustic duo will be entertaining the public on the Mermaid Quay Quayside tomorrow evening from 7pm until 9pm weather permitting. Throughout the weekend Mermaid Quay streets will be buzzing with an eclectic mix of quality local food and craft retailers bringing a distinct air of ‘Welshness’ to the centre and allowing anyone that visits to sample some truly unique product as well as enjoying the delights of the shops, bars and restaurants.

Next week we welcome back the Ezeeeplay fun bus (Monday 16th) filled with soft play for the children supported by face painting and hair braiding and we are very pleased to welcome Leann and Shahid – our celebrated Salsa dancers from Salsa Buena – on Friday and Saturday evenings next week (7-8pm) and they will perform live on our quayside to promote the start of weekly Salsa Dancing Classes within Terra Nova launching on September 9th. If you are interested in participating, join up now as this has received a huge amount of interest already! Glory Box will also be back with us on Sunday evening from 7-9pm, if you like Norah Jones, jazz and easy listening – they are a must….If you’re also looking for jewellery, leather goods or Welsh farm, produce the markets will also be work a visit on Saturday & Sunday on site.
